Mission Statement

We aim to make a significant, positive, difference.

MicroCrest Software primarily provides consultancy services, defining the architecture of bespoke systems for clients.

In particular, MicroCrest has extensive experience in architecting systems within the electronic commerce and banking sectors.

When designing a solution, MicroCrest always puts the client's needs and constraints first. Knowing the optimal ways to design systems is crucial, but pragmatism is the key.

Consequently, MicroCrest staff have gained experience in a diverse range of technologies and products. This has included design for both the Microsoft Windows (COM) environment and the Java (J2EE) environment. MicroCrest has even provided consultancy on systems containing a combination of these two!

With the additional experience of having worked with IBM on their MQSeries messaging product, and with other clients with other messaging products (notably Tibco and Krypton), MicroCrest also has expertise in the area of middleware design.

MicroCrest boasts a prestigious client list. From experience with a small, quality, rapidly-expanding software house (Dr Solomon's), to working at the opposite pole with the vast IBM Corporation, MicroCrest has a broad range of experience.

In the Financial Services sector the record is equally impressive. From the UK's largest Retail Bank (Barclays), to working with possibly the most prestigious bank (Coutts), and with experience of working with overseas banks such as Chase Manhattan - in Manhattan!

Not only has MicroCrest managed to attract such prestigious clients, it has also managed to attract repeat business from these clients. Since 1997, with every client except for one, MicroCrest has either undertaken repeat business from clients, or has received an offer to do so.

Again, this highlights MicroCrest's belief that Customer Satisfaction is the key to making our own business successful.

MicroCrest was formed in 1996, and operates mainly from state-of-the-art office accommodation on the edge of the picturesque village of Downton, set in the midst of the tranquil countryside of the Wiltshire/Hampshire borders, only a mile or so from the New Forest and within ten miles of the historic city of Salisbury.

We have also, recently, established a presence in the heart of the City of London, due to the close proximity with our main client base.

This having been said, MicroCrest recognises the importance of flexibility in the marketplace, and is more than happy to engage with clients on their own sites. This frequently involves visiting clients in, for example, the City.
